Troubleshooting
Saving
Section titled “Saving”The game autosaves every 9,000 frames and also saves from settings changes. The regular save is separate from Lethal Mode. See Save Data and Carryover if you need the exact saved systems.
Windowed Mode
Section titled “Windowed Mode”Windowed mode is a settings option. If the game crashes before you can reach settings, try restarting first, then test compatibility settings from Steam if needed.
Steam Deck and Linux
Section titled “Steam Deck and Linux”Community reports say Steam Deck can work, especially with touchscreen input, but Linux behavior has been mixed. If controls feel awkward, try touchscreen, trackpad, and controller mappings before assuming the save is broken.
Crash After Continue
Section titled “Crash After Continue”If the game fails right after Continue or while loading, restart the PC first, then verify files in Steam. If the problem is tied to a specific save, keep a copy of the save before experimenting.
Performance Checklist
Section titled “Performance Checklist”- Use windowed mode if fullscreen behaves badly on your monitor or handheld setup.
- Lower repeated manual actions by using scratch-size settings, Accountant Toad, Abacus Frog, and room automation.
- If Pachi or Gacha feel slow after long sessions, restart the game before assuming a save is corrupted.
- If Linux or Steam Deck input feels wrong, test touchscreen, trackpad, controller mappings, and Proton compatibility before clearing data.
